Today started with one of the better sleep reports I have had in a while.

For me, seven hours is a victory. I woke up, ate breakfast, watched part of the Steve Jobs movie, then went into my home office for some quiet before work. Kelly, my son, and three of the grandkids were all home, and I needed a little space to finish waking up before stepping into a night shift.

Before work, I got the run in.

Three miles at an 8:32 pace. Garmin called it tempo and high aerobic, so it was not just a “move a little” run. It was effort. It was proof.

The shift was calm. Everything was done early, and from there it was mostly hourly watch tours unless something came in. That gave me enough room to get some work done between rounds.

Later in the shift, I got into the gym.

Ten easy minutes on the treadmill to get the blood moving, then sit-ups, bench press, pull-ups, overhead barbell press, and barbell rows. Every set went to failure because that was the mood tonight. I did not get to everything I wanted, but I got the main work done: chest, back, shoulders, and trunk.

Run proof. Strength proof.

Off and on through the shift, I worked on the Bonumark Stream code rework and did some lighter work on Bonumark Publishing. Stream matters because it is not theory anymore. It powers my microblog. It is mine, running my words, on my site, under my control.

That is the whole point.

I am tired of renting my identity from platforms. I am tired of depending on systems I do not own. So I am building my own tools, using them, fixing what breaks, and sharing what comes out of it.

Find the problem. Live the solution. Build the proof. Share the path.

That was the day.

Run before work. Lift during shift. Jail work handled. Bonumark moved forward. Now it is time to step away from the computer, wrap up the shift, drive home, and sleep.

The work got done.
