The house is quiet now.

Kelly and the boys are asleep. Blu is stretched out in one chair, Milo is curled up in the other, and I got a couple hours of Zelda in before bed.

That is enough for today.

Heading to bed.

I’ve been back to posting Monday through Friday on jimlunsford.com, which means Bonumark Stream and my other projects have been quieter.

That has been weighing on me because building is still a big part of who I am.

But I am also trying to learn that every day off does not need to become another work shift. Some of it needs to be family, a bike ride, dinner with Kelly, video games, and simply being home.

The projects are not gone. I just need to find their place in the rhythm again.

Took the bike out alone tonight and got ten miles in.

No hard effort. No big goal. Just some space, some quiet, and a little time to get my head back.

Sometimes that is the training.

Strength work again today.

Pull-ups, reverse crunches, barbell rows, sit-ups, face pulls, and triceps.

Two lifting days in a row now.

Getting the armor work moving again.

Watching Garrett and Sebastian today, so they came with me on the run.

They rode their bikes behind me for three miles while I kept the pace controlled enough to keep an eye on them.

They probably just think they went on a bike ride with Grandpa.

But they are also seeing what normal looks like.

Get outside. Move your body. Stay together. Do the work.

That stuff sticks.

Good day overall.

Got a strong run in, got strength work back on the board, and Kelly and I went over to Brown County for dinner at Abe Martin Lodge.

The night changed gears when Garrett and Sebastian showed up unexpectedly, so the house is a little louder than planned.

Still, I got the road, the armor, time with Kelly, and a full day lived.

That counts.

Got the strength work in too.

Sit-ups, bench press, overhead press, lateral raises, and curls.

The schedule squeezed both running and lifting out for a few days.

Today I got both back.

Road and armor.

Finally got a run in today.

Started controlled, settled in, and got stronger as it went instead of falling apart late.

Four miles felt like mine again.

Sometimes you just need a little space, a little rest, and a road under your feet to remember the engine is still there.

Slow start, but a good one.

Breakfast and coffee are handled. Watched an episode of SEAL Team, got Syncthing installed and running between my laptop and desktop, and wrapped up the week on jimlunsford.com with a new Discipline Dispatch.

Five posts out this week.

Now I have three days off to live some life.

Your biggest fight is not always with the world.

Sometimes it is the voice that knows exactly how to make quitting, delaying, avoiding, and lowering the standard sound reasonable.

Let it talk.

Just stop obeying it.
