Kelly, Daniel, and I made it to the Brown County fair tonight.

We watched a 4H goat show, walked around for a bit, then decided the humidity had won that round. Instead of eating outside at the fair, we drove over to Bloomington and ate at The Trojan Horse.

Good food. Good service. Good company.

After that, we walked around the square, checked out some shops, then headed home with storms moving in.

Workout is done too.

After the humid 4.21-mile run, I got in pull-ups, rows, face pulls, lateral raises, Romanian deadlifts, sit-ups, and biceps work.

Everything was taken to failure.

No strict schedule today, but the work still got done. That is the difference between needing structure and still having standards when the day is loose.

Ran 4.21 miles today in 80-degree weather that felt like 86 with humidity sitting at 82%.

I kept it slower on purpose because that air was thick and I was not trying to turn a good run into a stupid one.

Longer, slower, controlled, and still enough to count.

That is the kind of run that keeps the engine built without letting ego drive the pace.

I wrote this because a life has to be built on something.

Mine is built on ownership, standards, discipline, proof, family, and the refusal to go back to the man I used to be.

Breakfast is done, and coffee time is underway.

I went to sleep earlier and got up earlier than normal because the next couple shifts are 1100 to 2300 instead of my usual 1700 to 0500.

No hard schedule today, but there will still be a run and some lifting.

For now, I’m just enjoying a morning that does not feel like a race.

The call-in shift ended up being better than expected.

I spent some time talking with officers I do not usually get to work with, had a short one-on-one with someone who needed it, then came home and got some quiet time with Kelly.

A little Xbox, a little normal life, and now I’m ready for sleep.

Not a bad way to end a day that did not go as planned.

Day off got interrupted by a call-in shift, so coffee time ended faster than planned.

Still got a run in, knocked out some sit-ups, push-ups, and banded triceps work before the shower, then made it to work with three minutes to spare.

Not exactly the slow day I had in mind, but I got the work in anyway.

Made a decision tonight.

JimLunsford.com is staying on WordPress with the Proof theme. We already shaped that setup into something that works, and there is no reason to rebuild the whole engine just because it would be cool.

Bonumark Publishing can sit as a paused experiment.

Bonumark Stream is where the focus belongs.

Sometimes the right move is not starting over. Sometimes it is recognizing what already works and putting the energy where it matters most.

Last shift of the long week is winding down.

Watch tours are on schedule, the jail is settled, and for once I spent more time talking with coworkers than burying myself in projects.

Not a bad way to close out the stretch.

After this, I get two days with my family.

I posted a new note on JimLunsford.com about the kind of friction that does not look like much, but still tests your standard.

A bad wheel, a bad mood, a day that pulls sideways.

None of it means stop.
