You keep waiting for someone to hand you the power to change your life.

They are not coming.

The power was never outside of you. It was in the decisions you kept delaying, the standards you kept negotiating, and the action you knew you needed to take.

The house finally got quiet, so I used the quiet.

Added post scheduling to Bonumark Stream tonight.

It is working and fully baked, but I’m still not pushing the next public release yet. I have more features I want to add before this version goes out.

That feels like the right move.

Build it clean. Test it. Let the next release be worth releasing.

Today turned into one of those full off-days that wasn’t really empty.

Got a run in, cleaned up, got a haircut, handled chores, visited my parents, went out for BBQ with Kelly, hit Walmart, came back home, handled more chores, ate dinner, and watched a couple episodes of Marshals.

I’ve barely been on the computer and haven’t used my phone much.

Not a wasted day.

Just a lived one.

Now I’m waiting for the boys to go to bed so the house can get quiet for a little while.

My legs were toast before I ever started today’s run.

I went anyway.

Not because I needed to prove something stupid, but because the standard still matters when the body is tired.

I pushed enough to get 3.14 miles in, then called it before sloppy turned into stupid.

That counts.

Comparison will make you question a structure that was actually working.

You start looking around. You start feeling behind. You start borrowing pressure that was never built for your life.

That is how alignment breaks.

Focus brings you back to what matters.

Heading to bed.

Good day overall. Got a controlled run in with Garrett and Sebastian behind me on their bikes, posted a new note on jimlunsford.com, had some time with Kelly, and rode out the storms moving through tonight.

The bigger thing is clarity.

The last several months have shown me a lot about who I am, what I’m capable of, what fits, and what does not.

I’m not lost.

I’m lining things up.

Today’s run was 5.10 miles at a slower pace on purpose.

Garrett and Sebastian were on their bikes behind me, and I didn’t want to turn the run into a fight today anyway.

Some runs are about pushing.

Some runs are about keeping the engine moving and letting the boys see what normal looks like.

Training. Outside. Movement. Standards.

That stuff matters.

Addiction survives when you keep giving it shelter.

You can hate what it is doing to you and still protect it. You can want freedom and still leave the door open. You can say you are done and still keep access alive.

That is where the lie has to end.

Breakfast is down and coffee time has started.

Short sleep again, but I don’t feel wrecked. Garmin can call it poor if it wants. I woke up functional, Milo has taken his place, and I’ve got today and tomorrow off before three nights back on.

The plan is simple.

Run. Lift. Eat. Build a little. Protect the tank.

Two days to set up the next three.

Not a bad day.

Published a Discipline Dispatch. Got a strong run in. Worked the shift. Handled what needed handled. Moved Bonumark Stream forward.

The difference tonight is I’m ending the shift feeling useful instead of completely smoked.

That matters.

Some days are survival mode.

Today was movement.
